On September 24, 2024, a special double event took place at the University of Paderborn, which focused on the interdisciplinary power of mechanical engineering and additive manufacturing. The network meeting of OWL3D, an initiative to promote 3D printing in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region, cooperated with the Mechanical Engineering Forum.
The DMRC in Paderborn fosters the education of engineers in the field of Design for Additive Manufacturing. We emphasize the critical role of designing parts specifically for AM for the successful implementation of the technology and are proud to actively contribute to transferring this essential knowledge to the industry.
Influence of Substrate Temperature on the Formation of Individual Weld Paths during Laser Cladding (LMD) when Processing 316L: Stefan Gnaase Assessing the Impact of the…
Once again, the Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium was held in Austin, Texas, for its 34th edition, underscoring its importance as a renowned additive manufacturing conference in the United States. The DMRC contributed with all together 8 presentations on the following topics:
• Influence of Substrate Temperature on the Formation of Individual Weld Paths during Laser Cladding (LMD) when Processing 316L: Stefan Gnaase • Assessing the…
With 524 oral and poster presentations, the Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) Symposium 2022 is again one of the key events for the AM comunity in the states. The DMRC contributed with all together 6 presentations on the following topics:
This year, Dr Christian Lindemann and the IPM launched a new Science Symposium Session at the AM-FORUM BERLIN 2022. Under the heading "Research of Today for the Industrialization of Tomorrow", numerous topics were presented and discussed:
The DMRC is taking part in the 50 Mosaics lecture series as part of the UPB 50th anniversary events. This mosaic will show the impact of 3D printing on the lives of each and every one of us. Various (also interactive) stations will be set up on campus to convey this message.
At Hannovermesse 2022, we will show which key technologies are making important contributions to the transformation of mobility. The "New Mobility Paderborn" combines research on flexible, resource-saving and networked forms of transport for people and goods through digitization, modern mobility concepts, advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable energy generation.
After many popular events had to be cancelled this year due to the pandemic, OWL3D took place for the first time as an in person and live event on September 29, 2021.
Additive Marking GmbH joins the DMRC in the consortium 2,5 years after its spin-off from the University of Paderborn. The start-up focuses on solutions for the digital process chain in additive manufacturing. It has developed a solution that automatically and individually integrates markings for each component already in the CAD data of the digital twin.
