Development of an Additive Manufacturing Potential Check System
Object of the project DynAMiCS is the development of a procedure in order to identify business opportunities for Additive Manufacturing technologies in a company. A step-by step procedure will be consolidated to a holistic, but scalable Additive Manufacturing potential check system that will be exemplarily validated in workshops with external companies and the DMRC partners. The check system draws on findings from the project “Strategy” and will empower the DMRC to become a leading institution acting at the intersection of technology and market research, as defined in the developed strategy. In addition, the future success potentials of Additive Manufacturing identified in the project “Opportunities and Barriers of Direct Manufacturing Technologies for the Aerospace Industry and adapted others” (Foresight project) will be utilized. Finally, the check system will be further developed to a service offer that will attract new companies to get in contact with the DMRC, and to join the DMRC as a partner in a further step. By enabling the DMRC for that kind of service, the DMRC will be known for its market expertise, additionally to the already available technological expertise. This will increase visibility and reputation of the DMRC. The results of the project will be summarized in a confidential study. Additionally, a public study will be published, considering confidentiality aspects of each DMRC partner participating in this project.
Goal of the project is an Additive Manufacturing potential check system to be implemented as a service offer in the business of the DMRC. It comprises the potential identification, product discovery, business planning and concise business models. Precisely described and evaluated leveraging concepts will show how the check system can be integrated into the business of the DMRC. Defined actions will help the DMRC implementing the check system as a service offer.
